We have been careful to retain the original features of our Charentaise 'longere' or longhouse. Built solidly out of local stone and oak, its hugely thick walls protect against the heat of high summer, keeping the interiors cool. All rooms in the house have floors of oak or handmade terracotta, with many featuring exposed beams, original stone window sinks or fireplaces.
The hub of the house is your guest kitchen and dining room, which is open to you 24hrs. You can help yourself to a wide selection of teas and infusions, coffee, water and juice whenever you want. Breakfast is served around the huge dining table and you can catch up with the world, if you need to, by connecting to the wi-fi network.
The spacious guest salon leads onto the dining terrace. In the cooler months it provides a quiet place to read a book next to the new wood burning stove, whilst in the summer you can take advantage of its thick stone walls to escape from the heat.
