HAZEL FAITHFULL - 25th MAY - 1st JUNE 2010
Hatha Yoga and Meditation with Hazel Faithfull

Have the time and space to develop your yoga while relaxing in the lovely rural setting Les Passeroses. Alex and Adrian have created a wonderful retreat centre with the swimming pool in the centre of the garden. The vegetarian full board is locally sourced and freshly prepared and cooked by them. The dedicated yoga space or Shala room provides a tranquil space for our yoga sessions although we hope to do a couple of sessions in the open air weather and/ or shade permitting.

The week offers the chance to deepen your yoga and relax in the warmth of Southern France. Daily yoga has such a profound influence on our body, mind and breath and the time to explore new poses and sequences. As always the friendly classes are suitable for all levels and I will suggest poses with easier and more advanced variations as appropriate. Importantly modifications or adjustments are given for any conditions that need consideration.

The week's Schedule
The yoga holiday will offer six days of morning Yoga from 8.30am to 10.00am. The mornings will be more asana led although combining the usual mix of breath and mindfulness with relaxation and brief meditation. The five afternoon sessions will focus upon flowing sequences, pranayama and meditation. There will also be time to explore wider teachings of yoga and introduce the techniques a regular weekly classes cannot fit in.

One afternoon midweek is yoga-free to allow a day exploring and evening meal out in town. This allows the rooms and house to be changed and cleaned. We recommend Aubeterre with the river beach, beautiful architecture, shopping and restaurants to suit everyone. A pick up and return is in the region of 16.euro.

Hazel's teaching
I have been teaching Hatha Yoga in Oxford for the past 6 years with regular Saturday workshops, with previous yoga holidays held in Tuscany, Italy and Lanzerote. I trained at the London City Lit Institute with Maarten Vermasse, the British Wheel of Yoga diploma. My teaching is lead by the breath; using pranayama techniques as foundation to our yoga, leading into meditation and mindfulness. I continue my studies to develop my understanding and I am indebted to the wealth of knowledge shared by established teachers. Patthi Jois

I aim to offer a varied and interesting class with a depth of understanding while good humour helps ground us. The week is an opportunity for students to develop and explore their own practice.
